Pack 301 is family-centered and open to boys and girls in grades K–5. Troop 301 is for boys ages 11–17 and gives Scouts increasing responsibility and leadership.

After Pack 301, boys can continue locally with Troop 301. Girls can ask a leader for help finding a nearby Scouts BSA troop through BeAScout.org.

Troop 301

Troop 301 is built around getting outside and taking responsibility. Scouts plan the program, lead their patrols, solve real problems, and grow more capable with every trip.

Our history

Founded in 1952 by WWII Army veteran Paul Stinner.

Troop 301 has served Robinson Township for more than seven decades. Since its founding, the unit has helped generations of local Scouts build outdoor skills, serve their neighbors, and take on meaningful leadership.

The troop's published history records 104 Scouts who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Their projects and service are part of a tradition that continues with today's Troop and Pack families.

Summer camp is part of that continuity: Troop 301 has returned to Heritage Reservation every year since 1981.

Youth safety

Know the Youth Protection rules.

Scouting America requires registered adult volunteers to complete Youth Protection training and criminal background checks. Its rules prohibit one-on-one adult and youth interactions and require reports of suspected abuse. Families can review the current national policies at any time.

Can we visit before joining?

Yes. Email us first so we can confirm the meeting and make sure a leader is expecting your family.

Which program is right for my child?

Pack 301 welcomes boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Troop 301 is a Scouts BSA troop for boys ages 11–17. Girls moving on from Cub Scouts can ask us for help finding a nearby Scouts BSA troop. A leader can also help with transition-age questions.

Does my child need prior Scouting experience?

No. Children may begin Cub Scouts at any grade, and boys may join Troop 301 without having been Cub Scouts.

What should we bring to a first meeting?

Bring your questions. A leader will explain what is needed for future meetings and activities; you do not need to buy equipment before visiting.

What does Scouting cost?

National, council, and unit costs can change. Leaders will provide current registration, dues, activity, and uniform information before you commit.

How are parents and guardians involved?

Cub Scouting is family-centered. In Scouts BSA, youth take more responsibility while trained adult volunteers provide guidance. Both units rely on family participation and volunteer support.

What if my child needs an accommodation?

Email before your visit and tell us what would help your child participate. A leader can discuss the planned activity and accessibility at the meeting site.
